The Gatehouse Bed and Breakfast was once the home of Ledwell and Theresa Vessey who built and operated the “Garden Province Motel” until we bought it and changed the name.  In its own grounds, with a sunny porch, large foyer and spacious living area, we love it as our cosy home in the winter and enjoy sharing it with summer travellers.  We have furnished it with our favourite antiques and family heirlooms.  You can watch TV from the generous sofa in front of the fireplace in the parlour and watch yourself tuck into a tasty continental breakfast in the mirror of the big mahogany buffet in the dining area.

There are two upstairs bedrooms with their own locks.  They have double beds with plaid quilts and are air conditioned, carpeted and newly redecorated. There is a third bedroom for an extra, single guest.  You have a private bathroom and shower (one has a ‘new’ old fashioned claw foot tub).  Guests have use of a phone and a fridge and can also enjoy the large lawn and swing in front of the motel.  The house is smoke and pet free.

The Gatehouse has its own private driveway, entrance and garden. We know you will enjoy its comfortable atmosphere and tasteful furnishings. You will not be hurrying out in the morning...sit and have a chat and another cup of coffee. The maids will tidy up after you and you will feel totally spoiled.

Directions: Stay on the #1 Hwy all the way to Charlottetown. If coming from New Brunswick and the Bridge, look for the sign and driveway on the right just past Canadian Tire and Staples. If coming from Nova Scotia and the ferry, look for the sign on the left at the bottom of the hill just past the University.
